Aloha! Now that we’ve started the 2017-18 academic year, I hope your sons and daughters are settling into their classes. This is an especially exciting year for our Chaminade University `ohana. Here are just a few of the recent developments:

  • Lynn Babington began her tenure August 1 as our tenth President, succeeding Bro. Bernie Ploeger, S.M. after his 23 years of dedicated service.
  • We have a new leadership position on campus with the naming of Dr. Helen Turner, Dean of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, as our inaugural Vice President for Innovation. This appointment reflects Chaminade’s growth trajectory and our cutting-edge research and academic initiatives.
  • We also have a new director of Campus Ministry, Bro. Allen Pacquing, S.M. He’s a Kalihi native and Saint Louis School graduate.

As always, I wish your sons and daughters well in their studies. I also encourage them to take advantage of the many extracurricular activities Chaminade has to offer, including student clubs, cultural events and a full slate of fall sports.

All the best!
